Walton Family Buys Broncos for $4.65 Billion

NFL Offseason - That certainly is a lot of money, isn't it? The Walton-Penner family ownership group will be purchasing the Denver Broncos from the Bowlen estate for $4.65 billion, a record price for a North American sports franchise. Walmart heir Rob Walton will be the managing partner. The previous record in the NFL was $2.3 billion for the Carolina Panthers in 2018; the previous record in all North American sports was $2.5 billion for the New York Mets in 2020. The Walton family is already involved in the NFL because Stan Kroenke, owner of the Rams, is Walton's cousin by marriage.
