Because of a toe injury, the Broncos waited a bit before letting linebacker Shane Ray get on the practice field but he got the green light 10 days ago and the team’s liked enough of what they’ve seen to give Ray more work at next week’s minicamp.
Head coach Gary Kubiak said that Ray will do team work next week after being limited to individual and position drills to this point. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said it’s been “exceptional” how quickly Ray has picked up the mental parts of the defense while adding that he’ll now have to prove he can put what he’s learned into action.
