After 10 seasons, 147 games and 34.5 sacks, defensive end Jason Hatcher is retiring from the NFL.
The news was announced by Hatcher's agent, Jordan Woy, on Twitter Friday.
Hatcher reached the Pro Bowl in 2013, his final year in Dallas, before spending two seasons with the Washington Redskins. The 2006 third-round pick out of Grambling State could have almost certainly found work in 2016 if he was interested. The Redskins released him in March.
His career will be defined by consistency. Hatcher appeared in 13 or more games per season in every year of his career and seemed to get better with every snap.
