President Trump appears to have disinvited the Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles who were scheduled to visit the White House on Tuesday.
In a statement issued by the office of the press secretary, Mr. Trump said, “The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow.”
The statement goes on to discuss how the Eagles had planned to send a smaller delegation of players — something that has been fairly common in terms of White House visits by Super Bowl-winning teams, regardless of the administration — but Mr. Trump said in the statement that “the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better.
