The Jacksonville Jaguars put their trust in Trevor Lawrence when they handed the 24-year-old quarterback a five-year, $275 million contract extension.
The decision to make Lawrence tied for the highest-paid quarterback annually was met with a good amount of criticism and doubt, especially after the way he and the Jaguars finished the year.
But Lawrence understands that with the historic contract comes a belief that he will improve this season, and he's confident he will do so.
"Obviously, you'd prefer to finish really strong that year and put yourself in a better position, not necessarily leverage-wise, but just feeling good about the future, feeling really sure about it," Lawrence said, per Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.
