After opening camp on the non-football illness list, Raiders running back Trent Richardson is ready to go.
The Raiders activated Richardson today, and he told reporters he had been suffering from pneumonia.
Richardson said he was frustrated to have to miss time, because he knows he’s going to have to battle just to make the Raiders’ roster. After a disastrous tenure with the Colts, Richardson has to prove he can be an effective NFL running back. So far in his career, he hasn’t done that.
In Oakland’s backfield, Richardson is likely to open the preseason as the third-stringer behind Latavius Murray and Roy Helu.
