The bright lights of Lucas Oil Stadium shone down on the players as they got into their stances, the cameras were rolling, and the stands were sparsely filled with fans. It had all the trappings of a prime-time NFL Thursday Night Football game but it wasn't: it was the NFL combine. After the event was canceled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was nice to see some sense of normalcy return to the NFL draft process in 2022. However, if 2022 was the last year that the combine was held in its historic location in Indianapolis, the event went out with less of a bang and more of a whimper.
