The San Diego Chargers finalized their coaching staff for the 2016 season on Tuesday and announced former Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees as one of their last hires.
Rees will serve as an offensive assistant after beginning his coaching career this past year at Northwestern as a graduate assistant.
Several of Rees' former Fighting Irish teammates are currently on San Diego's roster, most notably linebacker Manti Te'o. The 23-year-old didn't make it in the NFL as a player, but Rees seems to have done well for himself as he joins head coach Mike McCoy's Chargers staff.
