Patriots quarterback Tom Brady did not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Chicago Bears after he sliced his thumb on a pair of scissors by accident, a source informed of the situation told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.
Brady was in uniform when he cut his thumb on his throwing hand, Rapoport added.
"An accident occurred and Tom will be OK in time," Brady's agent, Don Yee, told Rapoport.
The Patriots quarterback did not join the team on the field. He was expected to see his first playing time of the preseason before suffering the minor injury.
