Shonn Greene has declined to show up to the Titans’ voluntary offseason workouts. Now the Titans have decided to tell him not to bother showing up to today’s first mandatory practice.
The Titans are releasing Greene this morning, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
That comes as no surprise. Greene was due $3.25 million this season, the final year on the three-year, $10 million contract he signed with the Titans in 2013. Greene managed only 392 yards last season, so he wasn’t much more than a mediocre running back, and a $3.25 million salary is more than mediocre running backs can expect in today’s NFL.
