Titans release struggling veteran corner Cox

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans released veteran cornerback Perrish Cox on Monday.

Cox started nine games this season and 22 in his two seasons with the team. He leads the Titans with three interceptions this season, but he has struggled in pass coverage. Former general manager Ruston Webster signed him as a free agent in 2015.

The Titans reduced Cox's role Sunday in their 27-21 victory in Chicago, rotating him with rookie LeShaun Sims, after he struggled in a Week 12 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

On Sunday, Cox fell and left Joshua Bellamy wide open in the end zone during the Bears' final charge.
