The Detroit Lions secured depth at the tight end position Monday by agreeing to terms on a new contract with Tim Wright.
A news release through the Lions' official website confirmed Detroit re-signed the 25-year-old. Wright had nine receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns last season. He spent his rookie year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before playing for the New England Patriots in 2014.
Wright entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2013 but got a shot in Tampa Bay, where he was reunited with his former Rutgers head coach in Greg Schiano.
