Some believed coming into the 2016 NFL season that the NFC North had a chance to be the best division in the NFL in 2016.

Both the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings were solid playoff picks, each believed by many to have a crack at a Super Bowl.

Though the Lions would need to figure out a way to overcome the unexpected retirement of Calvin Johnson, they were one of the best teams in the league the second half of 2015 finishing 6-2, and there were a few who thought based on head coach John Fox’s second seasons in Carolina and Denver that even the rebuilding Bears could surprise some folks this season.
