Terrelle Pryor’s preseason debut at receiver has to wait

Making a transition from quarterback to wide receiver over the course of one summer is a lot for anyone to pull off and a successful effort would be made much likelier if the player doing it had as much time on the field as possible.

Terrelle Pryor’s effort this summer is being hampered by a hamstring injury that coach Mike Pettine said will keep him from playing in the team’s preseason opener on Thursday night. Pryor hasn’t been on the field in a week, so he also missed last Friday’s intrasquad scrimmage, and the coach said that his inactivity isn’t going to make the transition any easier.
