Defensive tackle Terrance Knighton announced Wednesday that he's retiring to pursue a career in coaching, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Knighton, 30, spent seven seasons in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins. He last played in 2015. After signing Knighton last March, the New England Patriots released him in August, and he was not picked up by a team during the 2016 regular season.
A 2009 third-round pick by the Jaguars out of Temple University, Knighton—commonly referred to as Pot Roast—spent the first four years of his career in Jacksonville.
