TE-starved Bears promoted undrafted rookie Horsted from practice squad to active roster

Potential help has arrived at one of the more disappointing positions in Matt Nagy's moribund offense.

The Bears Wednesday elevated undrafted rookie TE Jesper Horsted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Wednesday, one day after making room with the release of OLB James Vaughters.

The 22-year-old undrafted rookie out of Princeton, where he was a record-breaking receiver, converted to tight end in the offseason, even providing a few bright flashes in the preseason in leading Chicago with two receiving touchdowns — each of the leaping variety and showing off some of his athleticism and ball skills.
