Safety Taylor Mays didn’t play at all for the Lions on Thursday night and he won’t be playing for them at all in the third preseason game.
Or the fourth or any other game the Lions play during the 2015 season.
Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reported that Mays asked for and received his release from the team after being shackled to the bench against the Redskins and Tim Twentyman of the Lions website confirms that Mays requested to be set free. Twentyman says an official notice about the move should come in the next 24 hours.
