Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said recently that he didn’t come to Miami to coach an average team.
Owner Stephen Ross made it clear on Thursday that he didn’t want Philbin to deliver an average team this season. The Dolphins haven’t had a winning team since 2008 and Ross said “goddamn right” to a question from a reporter who asked if he was antsy to see that change this season. Ross said the team’s goal for this season was “winning” and replied “all of the above” if he meant a winning record, a playoff berth or a trip to the Super Bowl.
