Often, regardless of the sport, the MVP seems to go to the best player on the highest performing team (e.g. Andre Iguodala winning MVP of the 2015 NBA Finals). With the Panthers posting a nearly perfect 15-1 record this season, it is tempting to lump Cam Newton into that same category, yet the numbers make a case for him being deserving of the honor.
