Sheldon Richardson will not go to jail for resisting arrest after a high-speed chase in his native Missouri, but he still faces a possible suspension from the N.F.L. for violating its personal-conduct policy. Richardson was sentenced to two years of probation and 100 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty in St. Charles County to reduced charges stemming from a July incident in which the police clocked him driving at 143 miles per hour.
Richardson can have his resisting-arrest charge, a misdemeanor, purged from his record if he fulfills his probation obligations. He must pay $1,050 in fines for traffic violations.
