After weekend medical rechecks, Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith is not expected to play in 2016 and teams are unsure when he will play again, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Smith suffered a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1 against Ohio State. The issue concerning NFL teams is that the nerves in his leg have not yet fully regenerated and it's unknown both if or when they would return.
