The Seattle Seahawks and general manager John Schneider have reached agreement on a contract extension that is expected to make him among the highest-paid GMs in the NFL, a source tells ESPN's John Clayton.
Schneider's contract was set to expire at the end of 2016, his sixth season at the helm of the Seahawks after a stint in the Packers front office.
The deal for Schneider, 45, is expected to approach the $3.75 million a year that, sources say, the Ravens' Ozzie Newsome earns as the highest-paid general manager in the league.
Head coach Pete Carroll's contract also expires at the end of the 2016 season.
