Source: Panthers, backup QB Andy Dalton agree to 2-year deal

The Carolina Panthers and quarterback Andy Dalton reached agreement on a two-year, $8 million deal that includes $6 million guaranteed and has a max value of $10 million, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

Dalton was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next month.

Panthers starting quarterback Bryce Young has developed a close relationship with Dalton, and now the two continue to get to work together.

Dalton, 37, signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Panthers in 2023 to help develop Young, the top pick of the 2023 draft.
