A report recently emerged that Giants quarterback Eli Manning wants to the the highest-paid player in the NFL. While he likely hasn’t — and won’t — put it that way, his contract gives him more than enough leverage to get there.
So should Manning take full advantage of that leverage, or should he pull a Tom Brady and leave money behind for the Giants to sign other players? Rodney Harrison and I debated the topic on Tuesday’s Pro Football Talk on NBCSN.
If, as Rodney believes, Eli should take less to allow the team to be competitive, it’s important to consider what the team has done to be competitive over the past few years.
