Say this for Pete Carroll and John Schneider, they are not afraid to admit they made a mistake, cut their losses, and move on.
Less than a year after signing a three-year deal worth up to $18 million in free agency, cornerback Cary Williams has been released by the Seattle Seahawks, according to Curtis Crabtree at KJR radio in Seattle. Williams was benched two weeks ago after making a mental mistake against San Francisco, and was a healthy inactive the past two weeks against Pittsburgh and Minnesota.
Williams' salary for 2015 is fully guaranteed, so the Seahawks save no money by cutting him now as opposed to waiting for the end of the season.
