The Seattle Seahawks have officially released safety Kam Chancellor and wide receiver Doug Baldwin with failed physical designations.
Chancellor has not played since injuring his neck in Week 9 of 2017 against Arizona. For contractual/financial reasons, neither player nor team ever used the word "retired" to describe him, but it has been expected for some time that he would never play again.
The Baldwin news comes as more of a surprise. He still led Seattle in targets last year despite missing three games, and had three catches for 32 yards in the wild-card loss to Dallas.
