Scot McCloughan wasn't at Redskins' facility Tuesday

Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan was not present at Redskins Park on Tuesday as the team prepared for this week's start to free agency, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Tuesday also marks the first day of the free agency negotiating period before the start of free agency on Thursday.

The Washington Post first reported the news. Redskins spokesman Tony Wyllie told NFL.com, "We're busy with free agency," when asked about McCloughan's whereabouts.

McCloughan's absence comes after he didn't attend the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis because of a death in his family, Redskins president Bruce Allen said.
