The San Diego City Council passed a measure allowing for $2.1 million to be used to fund an expedited environmental review for a potential stadium in Mission Valley. Meanwhile, the Chargers say it’s a waste of money.
According to Eric Williams of ESPN.com, the city council approved the funding by way of a 6-3 vote on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Chargers counsel Mark Fabiani responded to the vote by showing the continued discord between the two sides.
“The city is proposing to complete an EIR in just a few weeks — something that in the real world takes 12-to-18 months to complete,” Fabiani said in a statement.
