San Antonio would prefer to own an NFL team. It’ll perhaps settle for renting one.
The Texas city that hopes to lure the Raiders to town is willing to provide temporary space for the team as it awaits a new home in Los Angeles, according the the San Antonio Express-News.
Discussions with the NFL regarding San Antonio as a short-term fix haven’t begun, but it’s a viable alternative if suitable temporary space for two teams can’t be found in L.A.
Still, sending one team to Texas for a two- or three-year stay ultimately will do nothing to build a fan base in L.
