New Orleans Saints tight end Josh Hill is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain, a source told The Advocate on Sunday night.
Hill left the Saints' season-opening loss to the Oakland Raiders in the first quarter and did not return.
According to the source, x-rays on Hill's leg were negative.
Without Hill, the Saints are down to Coby Fleener and Chris Manhertz, who was inactive on Sunday, at tight end. New Orleans has interest in former Green Bay and Miami tight end Jake Stoneburner, who caught two touchdown passes for the Dolphins last season, knows Dan Campbell well and worked out for the Saints last week.
