Receiver Josh Morgan was one of several veterans to get a tryout this weekend with the Saints. And he sufficiently impressed the powers-that-be to get a roster spot.
Per a league source, the Saints have signed Morgan. The 29-year-old spent 2014 with the Bears, appearing in 14 games and catching 10 passes for 70 yards and one touchdown. He played in Washington the prior two seasons, after signing a deal that paid him a $5.5 million signing bonus as a free agent.
A sixth-round pick of the 49ers in the 2008 draft, Morgan’s best years came in 2009 and 2010, with 52 catches for 527 yards and three scores in 2009 and 44 catches for 698 yards and two touchdowns in 2010.
