Russell Wilson had a whirlwind offseason that not only involved signing a four-year, $87.6 million contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks but also saw him begin dating pop star Ciara. But the struggling quarterback insists neither the new contract or the new romance is the source of his struggles on the field.
The Seahawks signal-caller denied that there the mega-deal has added pressure on him to perform at a higher level, saying, “No, I don’t think so at all,” adding, “Nothing has changed.”
Regarding his relationship with Ciara, Wilson has come under scrutiny for the high-profile romance and how he frequently posts items to social media documenting the couple’s comings and goings, most recently a trip to Mexico during Seattle’s recent bye week, after which Wilson posted his worst outing of the season in a 39-32 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
