We've all seen it a hundred times by now. On Monday night Seattle linebacker K.J. Wright batted a fumble by Detroit’s Calvin Johnson out of the end zone to force a touchback and the Seahawks should have been penalized for illegal batting on the play. The no-call put a cap on a 13-10 Seattle victory and an opening month of NFL play marked by disrupted game flow and frustrated fans.
The official was standing 10 feet away in perfect position AND had an official on call to help, yet the call was still missed.
