Robert Griffin III said recently that he isn’t worried about chatter that Marcus Mariota could be coming to Washington in the draft and he expanded on those thoughts in a conversation with Jeff Darlington of NFL Media.

Griffin said that he’d “welcome” any competition the team brings in, but that Redskins General Manager Scot McCloughan told him that the plan is to  maximize Griffin’s potential by putting “the 10 best players around you” during the 2015 season. What McCloughan and the team plan to do beyond 2015 remains unknown, however.

They have until May 3 to exercise their option on Griffin’s contract for the 2016 season.
