Reports: Cardinals sign rookie QB Phillip Sims

AP

A former Alabama quarterback who took part in the Cardinals’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis will reportedly be added to the roster.

Phillip Sims, who finished his collegiate career at Winston-Salem State, has signed a deal with the Cardinals, the school announced Sunday. The Alabama Media Group and NFLDraftDiamonds.com also reported Sims would be joining the Cardinals; the club’s website first brought the reports of Sims’ expected deal to our attention. The team has not yet announced the signing.

Sims (6-4, 210) began his collegiate career with Alabama (2010-2011) before transferring to Virginia for the 2012 season.
