Just days after asking for his release from the Detroit Lions, safety Taylor Mays has a new team to play for.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Mays is set to sign with the Oakland Raiders.
Mays will rejoin defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. in Oakland. Norton coached at USC on Pete Carroll’s staff when Mays played for the Trojans.
The Raiders will be the third team Mays has been a part of since the end of last season. Mays spent time with both the Lions and Minnesota Vikings this offseason before asking for his release on Friday from Detroit, though he barely spent any time in the Motor City.
