There is a strong possibility that Ryan Mallett will not be a member of the Houston Texans organization by the time Wednesday rolls around.
Jerome Solomon of The Houston Chronicle said Tuesday morning that there is “no doubt” the Texans will cut Mallett by the end of the day. A previous report indicated that head coach Bill O’Brien wanted to release Mallett before Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, but GM Rick Smith was concerned that the Texans — who were 2-4 at the time — needed a capable backup for Brian Hoyer.
Now that the Texans were blown out and have lost Arian Foster for the season, there is very little hope surrounding the organization.
