For the Ravens, all is not lost when it comes to third-year safety Matt Elam, but there will be a long and difficult road ahead to get something out of their 2013 first-round pick.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Elam will miss the 2015 season after tearing his biceps during a full contact practice on Sunday, per a source informed of the situation. Elam is seeking a second opinion, but the safety needs surgery to repair his injury.
The Baltimore Sun first reported the news.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh didn't sound too optimistic about Elam's injury over the weekend.
