Good evening. We are gathered here today to discuss the failings of New York Jets wide receiver Jeff Smith, and the failings of the Jets franchise as a whole.
Some of you are no doubt reading about Smith for the first time today. Smith was a quarterback at Clearwater Central Catholic High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, who played collegiately at Boston College. He started three games as a freshman in 2015 and looked terrible -- he threw 82 passes, completing less than one-third of them for a 3.1-yard average gain with two touchdowns and three interceptions. The Eagles made other plans at the position for 2016, while Smith had another position in his plans.
