Yes, the Lodi football team has given up a few first downs over its first four games this season.
But points? Nope, none allowed yet.
Lodi pitched its fourth consecutive non-conference shutout on Friday, taking a 31-0 home victory over Waterloo to improve to 4-0 heading into next week’s start of Capitol North Conference play.
Lodi has outscored its four opponents by a combined 138-0.
The Blue Devils’ defense even scored two second-quarter touchdowns against the Pirates. One was scored on a fumble return by senior Mark Nellen, who also led the Lodi offense with 107 yards rushing and two rushing touchdowns.
