According to the Saints' official Twitter account, head coach Sean Payton confirmed the news.
Kruger was officially released by the Cleveland Browns Monday after three seasons with the team.
The 30-year-old Kruger recorded just 27 tackles and 2.5 sacks last season, but he had a career year in 2014 with 53 tackles, 11 sacks and four forced fumbles.
