Patriots sign Ryan Allen to three-year extension

The Patriots and kicker Stephen Gostkowski agreed on a four-year deal just before the July 15 deadline to sign players given a franchise tag, but no such deadlines were needed to secure a deal with the guy who holds the ball for Gostkowski.

Punter Ryan Allen’s agent Sean Stellato told Adam Schefter of ESPN that Allen signed a three-year extension with the Patriots. Allen is entering his third season with the Pats and would have been a restricted free agent after the 2015 season without the new deal.

Allen has a net of 40.
