The cornerback-needy Patriots have added some veteran depth.
Derek Cox, who was last seen getting cut by the Ravens in September, signed with the Patriots today.
Cox was a third-round pick of the Jaguars in 2009 and spent four seasons in Jacksonville. He then spent one year with the Chargers before getting brief stints in Minnesota and Baltimore.
In New England, Cox joins a secondary that has lost cornerbacks Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner, Alfonzo Dennard and Kyle Arrington this offseason.
