Patriots lose a cornerback, where they weren’t deep to begin with

The Patriots have spent the offseason figuring out how to backfill their secondary.

That job just got a bit more complicated.

Via Adam Caplan and Mike Reiss of ESPN, rookie cornerback Darryl Roberts has a wrist injury which could threaten his season.

The seventh-round pick had seen time with the starters in the preseason, and for a team looking for answers there anyway, the loss is worth noting. He apparently injured the wrist on Aug. 13 against the Packers, and we’re just now hearing about it.

After Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner and Kyle Arrington in free agency, the Patriots are looking at a number of options.
