Packer announce 17 undrafted free agent signings

AP

The Packers hope to end next season by raising the Lombardi Trophy and they added an undrafted free agent who has closed each of the last three years with a championship to help them in that effort.

Running back John Crockett ran for more than 1,000 yards in each of the last three seasons as North Dakota State has stormed to three straight Football Championship Subdivision titles. That helped him draw some pre-draft coverage on ESPN, but it wasn’t enough to get him drafted last week. It’s not the first setback in Crockett’s athletic career — academic shortcomings led him to lose a scholarship to Michigan State — and he told the team’s website he’s eager to prove he belongs.
