Owner’s remarks don’t suggest progress with Muhammad Wilkerson

After a day of ceasing of hostilities between the league and the Patriots, it doesn’t appear there’s a truce in sight between the Jets and one of their best players.

Via Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, Jets owner Woody Johnson didn’t sound the most optimistic tone when it came to a long-term deal for defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson.

“We’re continuing to have dialogue sporadically, but it’s got to be something that works for both sides,” Johnson said. “If something works out that’s agreeable to both sides, it’ll get done.
