The Denver Broncos could lock down Von Miller without wielding the franchise tag.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the Broncos are poised to push for a mega long-term extension for the linebacker. Per sources, there is optimism a deal gets done after the sides talked at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Miller wants to be the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL, a distinction owned by Ndamukong Suh, who signed a six-year, $114 million contract with $60 million in guarantees last offseason. In a similar spot as Miller last year, Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston signed at $101 million deal with $52.
