It’s now March 2018. And McCartney and Cousins are hours away from pulling it off.

Not everyone would’ve been cool with turning down a shot at long-term stability as a starting quarterback, and choosing to play out a season on the franchise tag with a multi-year offer on the table. Even fewer guys, given the injury rate in the league, would’ve been willing to do it twice.
