This weird NFL season just keeps getting weirder.
Marc Sessler at NFL.com reports that New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham has been suspended one game for his conduct against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Beckham got himself involved in a day-long one-on-one feud with Panthers cornerback Josh Norman that saw the wideout draw three separate personal foul penalties. NFL's Ian Rapoport reports that Beckham will appeal.
The real weirdness comes from the apparent motivation for Beckham's meltdown. The New York Daily News has a story (complete with video breakdown of the confrontations between Beckham and Norman, including a particularly egregious late, blindside, helmet-to-helmet hit that is one of the dirtiest acts you'll see an a football field this season) saying that Beckham felt intimidated and threatened because the Norman and the Panthers were swinging baseball bats before the game.
