Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has realized fairly quickly the Madden curse, via the backlash to his recent comments regarding the notion that players should be paid more than they are.
While many reacted negatively to Beckham’s beliefs, Beckham is right. Players aren’t paid enough.
The disparity arises not simply because of, as Beckham explained, the higher frequency of collisions or the post-career health consequences. The players aren’t paid enough because they receive 50 percent of the revenue while holding zero percent of the equity.
